"The Special Edition Moots Giro Empire ACC Road shoes are incredibly beautiful and well crafted - the photos can’t really do them justice. I purchased these for their classic looks to use when riding my vintage Peugeot which has the traditional cleat and toe-clip pedal set up. Once I saw the finish on these shoes however, I took time to remove the toe clips and line them with moleskin to make sure I didn’t scratch up the beautiful leather! I have a “high volume” foot and was worried when I ordered these that they wouldn’t accommodate my width (I can’t wear regular width Sidi or Giro’s other cycling shoes at all). My fears were completely unfounded however, as the full length lacing and supple leather uppers easily conformed to my foot instantly and they were far more comfortable on the first ride than any other shoes I have tried in recent years. They aren’t quite as light as my carbon Sidi’s but for anything other than racing I’ll be swapping on my clipless cleats and enjoying the comfort and great style of these for everyday riding on my Vamoots CR as well! They fit pretty much true to size – I normally wear 42.5 or 43 and the 43’s in these are a perfect fit (42.5's were a bit too small)."
